Although the program at Raritan Valley follows the Rutgers University Academic calendar in most respects, there is one instance where we do not follow the standard university calendar, final exams.

We do not follow the university’s final exam schedule, which provides for the final exams of courses to be given on days/times other than the day/time of a course’s actual lecture.  The majority of students at Raritan Valley attend school part-time and schedule their classes around full-time work, so it would not be fair to those students, who have arranged to come to class at specific times, to alter their schedule for the final exam.  It has been our policy therefore, to hold final exams at the regular class day/time during the exam period.  Please Note:  Final Exams should not be offered during regularly scheduled class times.  If this policy causes a scheduling conflict for you, or if wish to make special arrangements for your exams, please contact the Manager of Academic Programs to work out an alternative exam schedule.
