BA Political Science
The Political Science Program is offered through Rutgers' University College-Camden at the Rutgers - Atlantic Cape partnership program in Mays Landing. The Department of Political Science offers a wide range of courses that students have found useful in preparation for careers in law, government service, and public affairs. The department curriculum is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of politics and government in the United States, foreign countries, and the international system. Courses are equally valuable for career-oriented majors and for students interested in developing a well-rounded liberal arts background.
The major requires the completion of 13 courses (39 credits) including 50:790:101 Introduction to Politics, and at least two courses from each of the three areas of concentration: American Politics and Public Policy, International Politics, and Political Theory and Methodology. Only grades of C or better will count toward the major, and at least 15 of these credits must be taken at Rutgers.
